Hypnosis
The word hypnosis is derived from greek (hypnos = sleep). So, hypnosis is a state of relaxation like sleeping (sitting, eyes closed, loss for ideas etc), obtained by suggestion. It is based on the power of words when we pay attention.
Our minds turn words / suggestions in pictures. If you focus intensely on an image, it becomes more clear, more alive. In turn, images generate feelings, emotions. For example, if you think hard on something that you're very afraid, you feel palpitations, tremor, sweating, muscle tension, dizziness, nausea. On the contrary, if you think to the person you love, you become happy and you can feel good instantly.
So, suggestions induced in our minds have effects on both - mood and physically. The key of hypnosis is: body functions according to your thoughts.
